The Last Songbird
Daniel Weizmann
This “neo-noir” mystery struck me as a muddled mess. At times the writing was good, at times some characters were interesting, at times parts of the plot were absorbing. But then it would just kind of fall apart. Also, considering it involves the death of an iconic singer/songwriter being investigated by a supposedly brilliant though unknown songwritier, the lyrics throughout the book were, for the most part, rather pathetic.

I was rather disappointed with this latest John Rebus novel. It seemed too complex and strangely disjointed.
